1. The biggest surprise that I had after reading the assignment was actually that the word "entrepreneur" is actually derived from the French, entreprendre, meaning to "undertake!" Then the next line says "The entrepreneur is one who undertakes to organize, manage, and assume the risks of a business." This was really surprising to me because I've heard the word entrepreneur so many times, yet I haven"t known the real definition of the word! And to make it even more surprising it was a French definition that matches the word perfectly!
2. The part of the reading about all the "Schools of Thought" was pretty confusing for me. At first I was mind blown that I was reading about "Schools of Thought" it's a pretty crazy subject relating back to how you think of things. There were so many different types of "Schools" ranging from Environmental School of Though to Strategic Formulation School of Thought. To make matters more confusing for me, when I got to the Strategic Formulation School of Though part, they added an extra part to it talking about unique markets, people products and resources. This part confused me a lot and I had to read over it about 4 times to sort of understand it. It was a lot of material that just confused me!
3. If I had to ask the author two questions they would be:
1. "What are you doing now?" I would ask this because if this man was able to write an entire textbook about entrepreneurship and all the different types and aspects of it, he must be a really good entrepreneur himself! So I was wondering what businesses he has created and how successful those businesses are!
2. I would ask him "How did he come up with the "schools of thought" ideas?" (That is if he actually did come up with them) They are extremely interesting concepts and someone had to put in a lot of hard thought into every "school" so I wonder if there was a certain process of how he made them up? Or if they have been around for awhile and he is just re teaching them to us?
4. I honestly didn't find anything I thought the author was wrong about. Since this is a textbook, and I'm sure this guy is a highly esteemed individual, I took it as a learning tool to learn everything he said. So I never really questioned his opinions or statements. As I was reading I never had a "OH, I don't think he is right about this statement" moment. I found all the material extremely interesting and I can't wait to read more in the near future.

Bug List
1. Someone who lies to me.
This bug exists because that person is now untrustworthy to you
Answer: Many reasons. Anything from people lying to get an upper hand over someone to people lying to get out of things.
2. Somebody answering their cellphone mid conversation with you
This bug exists because that person seems like you're conversation meant nothing to them.
Answer: Maybe they needed to answer an extremely important phone call? Maybe it was a job interview? A loved one got injured? Depends on the situation if it's ok or not but it still bugs me.
3. Body odor
This bug exists because I guess some people can't wash their clothes, shower, or put on deodorant.
Answer: The answer is that people should smell their clothes often and be reasonable if you actually smell bad. Also daily deodorant is a good thing too.
4. Bad service at a restaurant
This bug exists because I came all the way to your restaurant to get food, not to wait thirty minutes in a booth by myself.
Answer: Sometimes the staff has just a few people working the kitchen at a time and if the restaurant is packed that day then consequently, it'll take longer for people to get their food.
5. Getting caught in the rain without an umbrella
This bug exists because mother nature does what she wants and can make rain happen whenever so sometimes us humans aren't prepared.
Answer: Maybe carry a little pocket umbrella or a rain jacket. Also always double check the weather.
6. Borrowed things not returned
This bug exists because either people forget that they borrowed something or they "forget" that they borrowed something.
Answer: Sometimes people just merely forget that they borrowed something. It's always ok to ask them personally and see if they still have it.
7. Borrowed things returned broken
This bug exists because sometimes accidents happen, its just a pain to rebuy something you didn't have to.
Answer: Just be careful with things you borrow because they aren't yours.
8. When people smoke cigarettes next to you
This bug exists because people who smoke cigarettes are most likely addicted to them and therefore will smoke more.
Answer: Stop smoking cigarettes, there is so much info on how bad they are for you so why do them.
9. Catching a cold
This bug exists because in this world there are viruses and bacteria that make you sick.
Answer: Stay clean, stay healthy, stay active, and take your vitamins!
10. Being coughed on/sneezed on
This bug exists because people are inconsiderate of your location when they cough or sneeze.
Answer: Put your elbow up to your mouth and cough there to not get it out everywhere.
11. High gas prices
This bug exists because the gas price does fluctuate around a lot and people don't want to pay more than they have to.
Answer: Change to an electric car!
12. High food prices
This bug exists because some chefs make amazing dishes worth a pretty penny.
Answer: If you are really worrying about food prices you can go to Yelp and check and see which place has less "dollar signs."
13. Waiting in line at the DMV
This is a bug because for some reason there are rarely ever people in them, yet they take an hour to seat you.
Answer: Maybe call in advance and make an appointment.
14. The power going out
This is a bug because in our generation we rely so much on power that when it goes it we can't do anything.
Answer: External power source/Generator.
15. Having to sit at a red light with no cars coming
This is a bug because clearly it is OK for me to go, yet it would be breaking the law.
Answer: I think this will continue to be a bug until the traffic light system advances and fixes this.
16. Delayed plane departures
This is a bug because you are trying to get to another place fast, yet its taking forever. Things you booked to do that day might have to be postponed or cancelled.
Answer: Get a private jet or choose a better airline.
17. People driving too close behind you
This is a bug because some people are so impatient driving that they have to urge you on to go faster by riding right behind you.
Answer: The "late" person should just schedule their time better so that they don't have to rush through traffic to get to where they need to be.
18. Poor customer service
This is a bug because some services are lazy or their employees don't really know what they are doing.
Answer: Report that right to the management so that they can either educate them better or replace them with better workers.
19. The nation's obsession over Z-list celebrities
This is a bug because in my opinion, they will probably never know your name or who you are, yet you spend all your time obsessing over their lives.
Answer: Focus on your own life first and foremost. It really doesn't matter what dog Leonardo DiCaprio is buying today at the pet store.
20. People who complain about their weight, yet never do anything about it
This is a bug because some people just want to stay unhappy about their physical appearance.
Answer: It's really not that hard to take some time out of your day everyday to work out. It's good for you.
This assignment was actually really interesting to me. I've never been asked to list personal "bugs" before and I really enjoyed thinking about these. I rarely ever think about what "bugs" me, and I've never even thought about WHY those things actually bug me. At the beginning I was a little unsure of how to word this or how to answer the "why" question, but as I kept going I understood what was going on a little better and got a lot better at it! I had a little trouble on number 5 because getting caught in the rain really bugs me but it's hard to come up with an actual answer for something so spontaneous. I'm usually a very happy and positive person so thinking about these showed me a lot of things actually "bug" me!

My Entrepreneurship Story
Hello class,
If you read my introduction post you would've read that I actually see myself being an entrepreneur in the future. Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and work from home having successful jobs and because of this they had a lot of time to spend with the family. Some of my friends' parents have jobs as surgeons who see their family a total of one to two hours a day because they are always at the hospital. I've always had a close bond with my family because of this and I'd want the same for my own family in the future. I've always had a business mindset ever since I was little. One time when I was about four or five years old I saw my parents had a lot of lemons in the fridge so I decided it was a good idea to take them all and make lemonade to sell outside. I made my own stand and posters and sat out in the edge of my driveway selling $1 lemonades, probably because I wanted my own money to buy a toy of some sort. Later in my life I continued to keep this entrepreneurial mindset. Around eighth grade I began making electronic music on a computer I had. I didn't think anything of it at the time except that it was a fun little hobby that I would do every once in awhile. But as the years went on I started improving more and more and enjoying it more as well. Eventually I got to a point where I started releasing my own music on iTunes and other music sharing websites. I started realizing that everything I released and "published" on the internet would be on the internet forever, so I had to be smart about how I branded myself and how I promoted my songs. I created my own Facebook page with artwork that I created for my own brand. I sent emails each day to big YouTube and Soundcloud record labels with my music so that I could eventually get signed and make money from all the hard work I put into making each and every sound in each of my compositions. One song I worked on took me one hundred and ten total hours of work until I completely finished it. I've networked and met hundreds of other producers online who give me helpful criticism on each track I put out which I follow diligently because I know in the end it makes me a better musician. On top of all this, during my senior year of high school, my friends and I were enrolled in AP Chem and for one of our lab experiments we made little bars of soap to show how we can chemically create bars of soap. Soaps are formed when fatty acids react with an alkali and the reaction is called saponification. We realized that we could buy all the materials needed online for super cheap and make a lot of profit off of this. We made a company and immediately bought all the materials in bulk. After making 100 bars of soap at home, we packaged them to look nice and sold them to parents and others in the school parking lot. We doubled our profits after selling all 100 bars after a few weeks. They were lavender scented so they were a big hit. All in all, I decided to take this course because like I said, I really enjoy running my own business and I hope to learn everything I can from this course to help my future companies grow and prosper. The picture attached is showing the program I use to make music electronically.

Introducing Myself
Hello class,
My name is Jason Horecky. I am a second year Business Administration major who is also minoring in Innovation. I was born in Delray Beach, Florida but I moved to Asheville, North Carolina when I was eight years old and lived there until coming to the University of Florida. Asheville has been said to be one of the coolest places in America and I'd have to agree. It's up in the mountains of North Carolina and is gorgeous at all times of the year. Both my parents run their own businesses. My dad is a financial adviser and works from home while my mom imports statues from South America and sells them here in the United States for profit. I guess you could say both of my parents are in fact entrepreneurs! I also have an older sister who is graduating from UF after this semester and already has a full time job lined up with "Hershey Chocolate." She is planning on doing international business in South America after she gets some work experience from working at Hershey. In the future I plan on running my own business of some sort. I've made a few business ventures with friends and I love creating new ideas and making profits, so I think that is the right career choice for me. I'll be getting a masters in either Business Administration or International business after my four years of undergrad here. In my twenty years on planet Earth I've traveled to a multitude of places. I've been to Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Ecuador, Ireland, and England. I studied abroad first semester of my freshman year in Dublin, Ireland and that was absolutely amazing. Most of our "assignments" during my time there were simply, "go on the train and visit a new Irish town and tell the class about the experience at the end of the day." I went all around Ireland and saw so many beautiful places and of course had the best Guinness in the world. In Ireland I lived in a small town called Maynooth, which was about a twenty minute train ride away from Dublin but it was actually one of my favorite towns. I'm attaching a picture of one of the most popular pubs in this town called "Roost Pub" which was definitely my favorite since they had live music every night, no covers, and amazing deals on drinks each night! It was a beautiful place and I had many amazing experiences there that have definitely shaped who I am today. Hopefully in the future I can study abroad again somewhere new and unique so I can have more amazing experiences.
